Why Pola Teeth Whitening?

The Pola brand is one of the most trusted brands of professional teeth whitening, and many leading dental clinics across the country recommend this Australian-made product. It is simple to use as a take-home kit and produces excellent results.

Our team will show you how to use it for optimal results. Because each kit is fluoride-releasing, it remineralises the tooth surface as it whitens to protect you from tooth sensitivity. In addition, it is both safe and convenient. Because of the Pola whitening system’s high water content formulation, results include a neutral pH and high viscosity. These factors protect your gums during whitening treatment.

In terms of effectiveness, Pola teeth whitening formulations achieve lighter, brighter teeth quickly, compared with other whitening kits. This comparison is especially true with at-home whitening kits bought online or over-the-counter.

Patients carrying out teeth whitening can wear their whitening trays during the day for short periods, during the evening, or overnight, depending on the type of Pola whitening our dentists prescribe. So come to our dental clinic on the Mornington Peninsula and talk to us about Pola teeth whitening and banish those tell-tale stains and discolourations that have been bothering you.

Your Pola At-Home Teeth Whitening Treatment

After consultation with one of our dentists, we will offer you a Pola Day or Pola Night teeth whitening product. Each product is pH neutral and contains fluoride to remineralise your teeth.

Whether you choose Pola Day or Pola Night, you will also receive a customised whitening tray and detailed instructions.

  • Fast-acting hydrogen peroxide whitening agent at 6%, 7.5% or 9.5% concentration.
  • Protection against sensitivity.

Your Step by Step Guide to At-Home Whitening

  1. Brush your teeth as usual.
  2. Remove the whitening gel syringe cap and insert an application tip.
  3. Place a small drop of gel into every compartment of the tray.
  4. Place the tray containing the gel around your teeth.
  5. Use a tissue or soft dry brush to remove excess or overflowing gel.
  6. Leave the tray in for the prescribed time period.
  7. Remove tray. Rinse the tray and your mouth with lukewarm water.
  8. Brush your teeth.

Benefits of At-Home Teeth Whitening Guided by a Dentist

Because of the popularity of teeth whitening, more locations have appeared which offer the service. Often, these locations are cosmetic salons, operated by staff with no dental training.

These tooth whitening premises cannot provide whitening solutions to the same concentrations as those offered by a dental clinic, and the whitening trays supplied to clients are generic – not individually fitted. Poorly-fitting trays can lead to the whitening solution interacting with gum tissue, causing pain and inflammation.

Pola At-Home Teeth Whitening at our Mornington dental surgery is:

  • Developed with a treatment plan just for you.
  • Personalised, with whitening trays custom-made for your own teeth.
  • Available in daytime or nighttime formulations for your convenience.
  • Quicker and more effective due to the stronger-grade whitening solutions.
  • Undertaken with guidance from a qualified dentist.
  • Prescribed with your optimal dental health in mind.

FAQs About At-Home Teeth Whitening

How long must I keep the gel on to get the best results?

Pola teeth whitening products are designed to give the most effective results with minimal wear time. For patients using the Pola Day product, 30 minutes is the recommended time to keep the gel on. For Pola Night patients, 45 minutes to overnight is optimal.

Time periods vary due to different concentrations of whitening agents, with full results usually seen within 5-14 days.

Exactly how white are my teeth going to become?

The results of any whitening treatment depend upon the type and extent of discolouration/staining present on your teeth. Each at-home whitening kit comes with a shade card enabling you to identify the colour of your pre-whitened teeth. You can check the card again to see the difference at the end of the whitening procedure. On average, Pola teeth whitening can improve your smile by at least three shades.

Will my teeth keep getting whiter the longer I use the product?

Unfortunately not! Teeth whitening will reach a plateau. This is usually when your teeth have lightened to their actual colour. So, once you’ve achieved your desired shade, or your teeth do not appear to be getting any whiter, then you should stop the process. It is essential to know that using any teeth whitening product for longer than instructed may harm your teeth structure. For this reason, we recommend that apart from referring to the shade guide, you take regular photos to use as a comparison during treatment.

How long will the whitening effect last?

Teeth whitening is not permanent, so it is impossible to say precisely how long the results of teeth whitening treatment will last. The result often depends on lifestyle habits and the types of food or beverages you consume. If you avoid smoking and drinking beverages such as tea, coffee, cola and red wine, your newly whitened smile will likely last for many months. However, if you enjoy a glass of red wine with a meal and need your daily caffeine boost, then your teeth will revert to their former condition far sooner. Long-term maintenance generally requires two nights of use every six months.

Can pregnant or lactating women have Pola teeth whitening?

No. Pola teeth whitening agents are not to be used by pregnant or lactating women.

Does the Pola At-Home Whitening process involve the Pola Light?

No. We don’t offer the Pola Light LED technology as part of our at-home whitening product.
